Big feelings are part of growing up, but when you’re little, they can feel enormous, and as an adolescent, they can be even harder to make sense of. Drawing on a range of evidence based approaches, I aim to create a safe and supportive space for children (6+ y.o.) and adolescents, with each session tailored to the young person’s developmental stage, needs, and personality. Areas that I can support with include:

  • Anxiety disorders (separation anxiety, panic, phobias)

  • Mood and adjustment disorders

  • School refusal/avoidance

  • Social skills and self-esteem building

  • Resilience and connection building

  • Parental separation, grief and loss

  • Behavioural difficulties

  • Developmental disorders (ADHD/Autism)

It’s also important to acknowledge that children and adolescents don’t exist in isolation, but instead their challenges and strengths form part of the wider family system. For this reason, therapy for children often involves parents and caregivers, as working together supports a deeper understanding, the implementation of tailored strategies and longer lasting change.
